Our
Story
For over 1500 years, the inhabitants of our southern Illinois region have experimented with art, from the earliest Illiniwek tribes (as evidenced by the pottery fragments they left behind) to the diverse array of local fine and contemporary artists we meet today. The Mississippi Valley Art Guild strives to inspire and educate all ages of art enthusiasts through exhibitions, outreach, and various art initiatives. We strive to bring art to our community, and our community to art. Through workshop offerings for children and adults, our members mentor others to achieve the elevation of each one’s unique, creative talents. We embrace all patrons of the arts, as well as amateur and professional artists, and encourage the display of their creations in a wide variety of medium. Our members have their works on display in our facility, many available for sale, ranging from paintings, leaded glass, wood and ceramic creations to smaller gift items that would be perfect for every gifting occasion. We welcome all visitors and would be delighted to introduce you to this immersive experience of color, passion, beauty, and culture. Please contact us at the email address listed below to begin your journey ….. your senses will thank you!
